Where do your friends go to church?

Tommy will be teaching on friendships this Sunday. My subject of this post is not what he will be preaching on, but for ministers, this friend thing can be a little tricky. Here are the two schools of thought for most ministers.

1. Only have Friends in your own congregation. Relationships build churches. Every opportunity to build meaningful relationships needs to be taken full advantage of.

2. Build healthy friendships, but don't feel like you need to find your BFF within the congregation. Sometimes finding your closest relationships outside of your home church body can be a healthy break from the concerns of your people.

Is there a right way to handle this?
