Book Review: Deliberate Simplicity

This book was a good read because it deals with some of the
complexities that have become the American church. Many readers were challenged by another book by a different author called Simple Church. However, while we have made an effort to create a more simple model of what church looks like on a weekly basis, the very process of making our structures simple becomes difficult.

This book explores what it means to make the difficult decisions to be
simple for sake of expanding the church missionally. The examples of
using an overhead projector instead of a multimedia projector, or
reproducing rabbits instead of elephants, were analogies that I could
easily comprehend. Be simple for the sake of replication. Be sure your
DNA is not too complex too transfer easily, or it won't.
